Asked Questions
- Do you service boilers?
- Yes we service and repair amongst all Potterton, Baxi, Gloworm, Ideal & Worcester domestic gas boilers and Johnson & Starley warm air units as well as gas fires
- Do you charge a call out charge?
- Yes we do charge a call out charge but this
covers travelling to your property and working on your appliance
for 30 minutes. If we have to come back for a further visit
within 1 month you will only be charged for each further 30
minutes on site.
Do you provide Landlord’s Safety Certificates?
- Yes we do Landlord’s Safety Certificates which is a one off price for checking all the gas appliances in the property.
- Do you do timed appointments?
- It is not possible to make timed appointments as such. We normally just book morning or afternoon but we can sometimes offer a 1 st call between 8.15am & 9.00am or an after 3.30pm call when available for local visits. We can also contact you up to 30 minutes before our visit to enable you to travel home in time for our engineer
- Are you GAS SAFE registered?
- Yes our GAS SAFE registration number is 4661 and all our gas engineers are also independently registered with GAS SAFE.
- Do you install bathrooms?
- Yes, but this work is generally carried out more in the summer months.
- Do you flush out central heating systems?
- Yes we can either put chemicals in the system or, if the system is badly sludged, we can do a power flush using a de-sludge machine.
- Do you install new high efficiency boilers?
- Yes our General Manager will advise you of the best boiler for your needs and give you a free of charge quotation for the works. If the quotation is accepted we should be able to complete the new installation within a month of the initial visit.
- Do you install complete central heating systems?
- Yes, our General Manager also does free quotations for new central heating systems or for major upgrades to the old systems.
- Do you quote for small plumbing jobs?
- Not generally. We do undertake small plumbing jobs but we do not normally quote for them first. However we can give you a rough idea of price over the phone based on our hourly labour rate.
- Do you do service contracts?
- We do not do service contracts as such but we can send you an annual reminder that your boiler is due for servicing.
- What areas do you cover?
- We carry out work over a large area covering an approximate 30 mile radius of Blackwater, extending as far as Newbury in the west and Petersfield in the south.
- Do you work on LPG (calor gas) appliances?
- Yes, we have several specially trained LPG engineers.
- Are your engineers qualified?
- Yes, all our gas engineers have obtained the necessary ACS training to work on gas appliances which is required by GAS SAFE and our plumbers have all completed a minimum of 2 years training at college.
